What do you charge?

Here is a general idea of the hourly rates you can expect to pay for our services (prices subject to change):

Academic Support

  • À la carte:  $175-$200

We provide additional discounts for siblings, as well as for referrals from select educational consultants and guidance counselors.

We also offer a Reduced Fee Tutoring Fee Program (60-90% off our standard rates) for a limited number of qualified SAT, ACT, and LSAT students each year.
Do you offer in-person tutoring?

Our company is designed around a strong belief in the effectiveness of virtual tutoring. Given the geographic distribution of both our team and our client base, it is not feasible for us to offer in-person tutoring.

We utilize cutting-edge technology to make tutors and students feel like they're in the same room - it's managed to win over more than a few parents who were adamant about in-person tutoring before working with us!

We recognize that some families may still be apprehensive about hiring a virtual tutor, which is why we offer a Money Back Guarantee on all of our tutoring packages: If you're not completely satisfied after your first session, let us know and we'll do our best to make it right. If we can't, we'll give you a full refund.

How do you hire your tutors?

While subject-matter expertise is of course a prerequisite for any tutor seeking to join our team, it is by no means the only quality we look for in potential instructors.

Some of the key traits we seek include:

  • A good sense of humor.
  • The ability to tailor instruction to specific learning styles.
  • A willingness to think outside the box.

In order to identify tutors who match our ideal profile, we split our hiring process into two distinct components:

  1. The first step is an initial call with our CEO and Founder, Jordan Schwartz, to determine a potential tutor's personality alignment and rapport-building skills.
  2. This is followed by a call with one of the existing tutors on our team, who will confirm that the tutor is capable of effectively teaching the relevant content.

New tutors are trained by Jordan and whichever tutor conducted the second portion of their interview to help them become the best possible representatives of Green Light Education once they begin instruction.
Do you offer admissions consulting?

We like to focus on what we do best - tutoring. While we do not offer admissions consulting in-house, we have dozens of exceptional admissions consulting partners and firms to whom we are more than happy to make an introduction.

We do not charge any fees for such introductions, nor do we accept any compensation from the provider(s) to whom we refer you.

NoteIf you are an admissions consultant and would like us to consider referring students to you or your firm, please visit this page for more information.
