Jordan's Bio

Jordan Schwartz has been teaching the SAT, ACT, and LSAT since 2016, and has helped hundreds of students achieve top scores on each exam. He founded Green Light Education with the goal of delivering high-quality digital test prep and academic tutoring at scale. Originally from the Boston area, Jordan spent five years in Washington, DC after college and currently resides in the Morningside Heights area of Manhattan with his miniature goldendoodle, Simba.

What do you enjoy most about tutoring?

My favorite tutoring experiences are those in which I can truly connect with a student and help him or her push through a hurdle that previously seemed insurmountable.

Talk about a specific time when you helped a student overcome a challenge.

I had a student who was struggling with severe test anxiety while preparing for the LSAT. We worked together to diagnose her specific anxiety triggers and worked to develop a comprehensive strategy for how to address them. She ended up scoring a 174!

What is your tutoring style? How do you engage with your students?

In the first few sessions with any new student, I tend to avoid being too prescriptive in my approach. Instead, I work to understand exactly where he or she is struggling and attempt to determine the best possible course of action in order to achieve the target score.

Talk about your favorite teacher. What made him or her so special?

My favorite teacher was my middle school history teacher, Mr. Cook. He made history and social studies very engaging and is part of the reason why I am such a history and geopolitical buff to this very day!
